PGG Wrightson Velvet Depots

PGG Wrightson Velvet is New Zealand's largest handler of deer velvet and operates a network of 69 depots, located within the Rural Supplies Stores throughout New Zealand.

PGG Wrightson Velvet offers comprehensive services which include:
     a) New Zealand wide freight and pick up facilities
     b) Full insurance cover
     c) Grading to Deer Industry New Zealand guidelines
     d) Velvet storage in modern secure freezers
     e) Velvet packing for export
     f) Export and freight services

Velvet Procurement Responsibilities

• To collect deer velvet from the farm gate of each producer in NZ who wishes to have their velvet collected
• Adhere to the DINZ standards for storage and transportation of deer velvet i.e. protect the image of our product!
• Manage the relationship with velvet producers on behalf of NZVM to ensure requirements are met at a satisfactory level for both.
• To promote the NZVM model to all velvet producers.
• To apply service level standards for both PGW Livestock staff, procurement agents and PGW Rural Supplies staff
