Why Should You Attend a Course?
Farming and horticulture are dangerous occupations. If during your working day you ride an ATV you may be at risk of being involved in a serious accident. Currently one farmer is killed every three weeks and 11 farmers are seriously injured every day on New Zealand farms.
What Will You Learn?
This course will assist you to keep yourself and others safe when you ride an ATV.
Unit Standards included:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the safe operation of a motorcycle and an SPV/ATV
- Ride a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)/All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on flat terrain
- Ride a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)/All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) on undulating terrain
- Ride a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)/All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with trailed equipment

What are the Costs?
Costs are set on an annual basis, and are available by contacting Agriculture New Zealand. Corporate rates may be available for large groups. Discounts may be available if you attend more than one course.
What Qualifications Can You Gain?
This course allows you to gain credits towards a National Certificate in Farming Skills (Farm Safety) (Level 2).
