With over 380 entrants and 2,000 photos to look through we finally selected the 12 finalists for PGG Wrightson’s 2011 Calendar.

Entrants were tasked with submitting photos that fit the theme ‘Growing New Zealand’.

Guest judge and photo journalist, John Cosgrove sat at our head office in Christchurch, surrounded by some stunning photos putting them into those with the wow factor and those that were more subtle.

Training Courses are run regularly nationwide:

• Farm Management Principles - soils/fertilisers, livestock management, fencing, agrichemicals, weed/pest control
• Livestock Management - livestock feeding and health, animal welfare, drenching, vaccinating, calf rearing, electric fences, handling and moving livestock
• Practical Farming - ATVs/motorbikes, tractors, chainsaws, fencing, livestock handling

The Hazardous Substances and New Organisms (HSNO) Act 1996 now requires a number of agrichemicals and animal health products (veterinary medicines) to be “tracked”.  Tracked substances can only be purchased by an “Approved Handler” or, in some cases, someone who is under the direct supervision of an Approved Handler.
