Is your house easily found at night?
Would it be simple for emergency services to find your house in the dark?
If you answered no to both or one of these questions, then what you need is a Rural Recognition Plate.
Rural Recognition is a company established by seven year 13 Tauranga Girls’ College students: Jillian Oughton (Managing Director), Heidi Anstis (Financial Director), Stephanie Harper (Communications Director), Sarah Madill (Production Director), Laura Dunstan (Sales Director) and Hannah Gray and Nicole Reekie (Co Marketing Directors).
Rural Recognition is a company formed as a part of the Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme, a program designed to give youth a taste of business by providing them with a real life business experience. The girls have grasped the challenge and have come up with an excellent product; ‘Rural Recognition Plates.’
Rural Recognition Plates are letterbox numbers designed to provide an alternative to the plastic rapid response numbers currently provided to rural homeowners by the council. Rural Recognition Plates are made from the same high quality aluminum as car license plates. The aluminum means the plates are as durable and reflective as number plates ensuring that properties are easily found during the night, by visitors and emergency services.
Rural Recognition Plates are competitively priced, at $25 each or two identical plates for $45.
Rural Recognition has been very successful in the scheme so far and out of the Western Bay of Plenty Region has won awards for the best business plan, the best oral presentation and the best overall stall in the Trade Fair that took place in Bayfair on Saturday the 2nd of July. This is a testimony to the team’s dedication and strong will to succeed.
“Rural Recognition is a sound, viable company dedicated to providing our customers with a high-quality product and efficient service”, says Communications Director, Stephanie Harper.
