PGW IHC Rural Scheme

The PGG Wrightson IHC Rural Scheme involves farmers, PGG Wrightson and IHC working together to raise money for New Zealanders who have an intellectual disability. Launched in 1984, as the PGG Wrightson IHC Calf Scheme - this project has contributed enormously to the IHC. The Scheme now raises more than $1,000,000 each year. In 2008, the scheme was expanded to include ALL Livestock.

Why are we involved?

PGG Wrightson are proud to be part of such a long-lasting sponsorship relationship. Money that is raised within a community, stays in that community to assist people living with disabilities. THANK YOU to all farmers who have donated to the ‘PGG Wrightson IHC Calf Scheme’ over the last 25 years – together we have raised over 20million dollars. Here’s to a bright future for people living with intellectual disabilities in your community!

How to Donate?

If you'd like to jump on board with us and sponsor the PGW IHC Rural Scheme, please phone 0800 746 444 or talk to your local Livestock Representative.

Ballance Farm Environment Awards

The Ballance Farm Environment Awards are held in eight regions throughout New Zealand, including: Waikato, Canterbury, Bay of Plenty, Wellington, Southland, Otago, Northland and Horizons. The key objective of the Awards is to encourage sustainable land management and to display to farmers that profitability can be balanced with environmental concerns.

Why are we involved?

As New Zealand’s largest agri-serving business, PGG Wrightson is strongly committed to New Zealand agriculture – the Company’s sponsorship of the Ballance Farm Environment Awards is a tangible demonstration of that. PGG Wrightson fiercely encourage the community spirit demonstrated in the 'Land & Life Award'. Our chosen category is focused around the all-important people side of business. Entrants pride & passion for the land are a key part of the judge’s considerations. Winners work actively within their community, and boast a very good relationship with external “advice or support” from agribusiness people. The PGG Wrightson Land & Life Award also encourages intergenerational thinking and planning.
