PGG Wrightson Seeds is a proprietary business that was formed in 2005 as a result of the merger of Wrightson Seeds Limited, PGG Seeds and Agricom Limited. Combined, PGG Wrightson Seeds is now one of the largest proprietary seed companies in the southern hemisphere, with over 400 staff and significant market presence in Australasia and South America.

The PGG Wrightson Seeds business encompasses all facets of the seed market, from research and development, production through to sales and marketing and on-farm support.

The international business of PGG Wrightson Seeds focuses on four areas of expertise:

Proprietary Forage and Turf Products – We market proprietary products bred in conjunction with various partners, with production carried out primarily in New Zealand but also in many major international markets.

Commodity Trading – We trade commodity grasses, legumes and other commodity products from our large group of growers in New Zealand, Australia and Uruguay.

Multiplication – We contract contra-hemisphere multiplication of grasses, clovers and vegetable seeds utilising the range of climates available, primarily in New Zealand but also across South America and Australia.

Garden Peas – We evaluate, produce and market pea seed to many markets around the world including: North and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Middle East and North Africa.
